Brief Description : A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join the NHS delivering administrative and reception support to a GP Practice located within the Borough of Croydon.


Qualifications Required : GCSE English/Maths A-C Essential
IT Qualification - Desirable
Vacancy Detail : Each individual practice will create a specific job description. However in general applicants will be expected to:
Greet and direct patients and visitors to the practice.
Answer the telephone courteously and respond to all telephone enquiries.
Register new patients.
Distribute prescriptions as required.
Make new and follow-up appointments for patients.
Ensure confidentiality on all matters.
Scan clinical correspondence.
Receive and record new medical records.
Prepare deduction summaries for patient moving to new surgeries
Filing and archiving.
Assisting with health promotion and prevention programmes.
Sort and distribute post.
Promote the practice using a range of IT skills.
Assist other members of the practice team.

Number of Positions Available : 1
Working Week : 30 hours, Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm
Salary : £195.00 Per Week

Training to be Provided : Applicants will be allocated a mentor from within each organisation. One session per week will be supported learning within Croydon College. Applicants will also be expected to participate in local health specific courses.
Other Information : Applicants must be able to recognise the importance of confidentiality and data protection in relation to the patients we serve.
Things to consider : Delivering General Practice services is demanding and challenging. This role is not for the faint hearted!
