Job Role – Under the direction of the Facilities Manager and other site staff, assist in the provision of maintenance, Health, Safety and security services on school premises and sites, ensuring a safe, clean working environment
Apprenticeship & Training - Facilities Management Level 3. Apprentices will achieve a practical (or 'competence') qualification: Certificate in Facilities Management Practice

Generic Duties and Responsibilities

Daily Lock and unlock of school buildings and areas with flexible working times to meet the needs of the school
Be a key holder for multiple sites and control the allocation of keys
Assist with site security and dealing with intruder and fire alarms
Assist with minor repairs e.g. taps, changing light bulbs, unblocking drains, repairing door furniture
Undertake cleaning duties including graffiti removal, litter-picking and emergencies where necessary
Dealing with waste and waste collections where necessary
Assist with the routine maintenance of the minibuses
Assist in dealing with contractors and visitors
Be involved with emergency procedures such as fire, flood, electrical failure etc.
Assist in the operation and checks of the heating and boiler plant
Assist in carrying out daily, weekly and monthly health & safety routines, checks and procedures.
Having an active involvement in procedures relating to emergencies i.e. fire, flood, security etc.
Be a Fire Warden
Be a First Aider
Being the school’s first port of call for reactive daily repairs, emergency maintenance and basic redecoration duties.
Ensure that incidents, accidents and ‘near misses’ are correctly recorded, and reported to the Facility Manager to determine any further action
Carry out daily, weekly and monthly Health & Safety inspections of the buildings, grounds and equipment & plant and report findings & recommendations to the Facilities Manager.
Porterage of furniture, equipment and deliveries around the site(s) and buildings as necessary
Be the after-hours contact person for the fire and intruder alarms
Undertake appropriate training and staff development as required
To carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required by the line manager or the SBM and Executive Headteacher

Salary : £369.00 Per Week

Good understanding IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
Other Information : Proactively supporting the Facility Manager by ensuring that:
The school building(s) and teaching / learning environment is maintained and building fabric is kept fit for purpose at all times

The schools’ mechanical & electrical infrastructure is in order and fit for purpose at all times

The school premises are safe and secure at all times

Ensure that the school grounds and buildings are clean, litter free, free of hazards and maintained correctly on a daily basis.
Things to consider : Understanding of relevant health & safety requirements or willingness to attend training
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues or willingness to attend training
Must have an interest and some knowledge of trade skills such as plumbing, electrics and carpentry
Good literacy and numeracy skills
First Aid at Work qualification or willingness to attend training (School can arrange)
Full driving license preferably with D1 (Minibus) experience
