Brief Description : We are looking for dynamitic candidates who wish to
pursue a career in Bricklaying. The Candidates need
to be self‐starting and motivated, with good
communication skills. Excellent timekeeping and
attendance levels are essential.

 

Qualifications Required : GCSE A-C in English and Maths or equivalent
Vacancy Detail : Main Duties
(1) To complete the apprenticeship training
programme
(2) To complete the full range of bricklaying
tasks associated with the training modules
(under supervision).
(3) To attend in‐house training and college as
and when required.
(4) To provide feedback to your employer, and
progress all college / on‐site works with all
due diligence and in doing so achieve the
best results and learning from the training
provided that you are capable of.
(5) To develop and maintain good working
relationship with your colleagues / coworkers
and our Clients.
The successful candidate will be required and
expected to attend college on a day release basis and
complete all work required for the qualification and
to the agreed timescales.
The qualification in this instance is the Full
Framework Apprenticeship.
1) Level 2 Intermediate Apprenticeship in
Bricklaying (NVQ Level 2 & Diploma L2)
General Responsibilities
To act as an ambassador for Swift Construction
Group at all times.
To Comply with the Health and Safety Policy and
Procedures at all times and ensure that they draw to
their Manager / Supervisors attention any unsafe
working / practice / site condition

Working Week : 7.30am until 16.30pm
Salary : £300.00 Per Week

Training to be Provided : This qualification is made up of:
• Level 2 NVQ in Trowel Occupations
• Level 2 Diploma in Bricklaying
• Functional Skills in English at Level 1
• Functional Skills in Mathematics at Level 1
• Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
• Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
Other Information : No prior qualifications are required for the
post, although completion of the Level 1
Diploma in Bricklaying / Trowel Occupations
is preferred.

Working locations vary, but whilst we are an Essex
based business approximately 80% of our work is
within the M25 with many project located in Central
London. So any perspective candidate needs to be
prepared to travel into and across London usually via
Public Transport or the most suitable means of
transportation
Things to consider : Rate of Pay
The rate of pay will be £60.00 Per Day based upon an
8.5 hours working day equating to £7.06 per hour.
You will be paid (week in hand) via PAYE please see
attached the new starter form which will completed
on the date of commencement together with the
terms and conditions of employment (please ensure
you read the Terms & Conditions of employment as
you are expected to act in accordance with these
requirements). So please bring with you all the
relevant information on the date of commencement,
including photo proof of ID and Residency (passport
will be sufficient). In addition, upon the successful
completion of the 6 month probationary period, at
Directors discretion only Swift may decide to pay or
contribute to some reasonable travel expenses,
which will be agreed / approved in advance by
myself, and dependant on the allocated site.

The basis of the Apprenticeship will be one day at
college, and four days at work and the site hours may
vary depending on the allocated site as will the start
time as they may be either 07.30am until 16.30pm or
08.00am until 17.00pm and based on the 8.5 hours
per day. You will be expected to attend work without
exception five days a week when the colleges are
closed or outside of normal term times. As college
times generally start at 09.00am but you will be paid
for the normal working day, so you are expected to
be early or on‐time for every lesson.
